Lycanthropy in MLP headcanons
I've written my ideas for lycanthropy in MLP as I write for Blue Jay since she's a werewolf :] warning, it's long and rambling. It almost reads like an infection lmao Lycanthropy is a lot less common, or at least less noticeable, then cursed vamponies (different than bat ponies) as lycanthropy is a harsh transformation that happens at night time under the moonlight but during the day they appear as every day ponies. Not many cases of lycanthropy are documented as many ponies who become infected often go into hiding, isolating themselves from pony communities. A pony usually becomes infected when they get bitten by a timberwolf. A timberwolves’ saliva is potent with both magic and disease that just a single bite that pierces the skin is enough to infect a pony. The harsher the bite though, the faster the effects will take hold. Timberwolves don't gather in heavily populated areas like cities or towns as they naturally camouflage into forests, sometimes they'll roam into farmlands depending on the setting. Once a pony is infected, it's hard to treat the bite as there's no known cure for lycanthropy via modern medicine or magic. Cleaning the wound thoroughly and taking care of the injuries can slow the effects and eventually full transformation but the fate remains the same unfortunately.  Ponies usually don't feel any difference in the daylight after being bitten, they might even experience more energy and strength than normal, but the moonlight of a new moon after the bite is when they'll start to experience a gradual transformation and unusual symptoms. Usually unnatural cravings for meat, lengthening of teeth, restlessness, fur becoming more stiff or scruffier are things that'll occur on the first few moons but will disappear as Celestia’s sun shines back down on them. Once a pony with lycanthropy experiences the light of a waning moon is when things become worse, the transformation becomes painful, an aware pony will usually experience harsh pain. They'll experience shifts in their bone structure as their legs become longer and more canine like, bark emerging from their skin- especially where the pony was bitten first, eyes becoming more adapted to the night and sensitive towards bright lights, the cravings for meat become worse- almost uncontrollable, fur and mane becoming spiked or rough, almost manged. The first stage transformation is when a pony starts having less control of themselves, experiencing gaps of memory loss, heightened aggression, having more primal animalistic urges and instincts. If a pony avoids the moonlight they should be able to have better control over themselves. A full transformation usually occurs after a pony has experienced the light of a full moon at it's peak. Before the full moon each night only makes the transformation worse and worse until they lose all their control of their sense of being and succumb to the lycanthropy at night.Their body becomes unnaturally large for a pony (about a foot or so taller in height), their limbs shift and change to become canine like, fur and mane have grown and worsened in condition, their teeth will become enlarged and sharp, often causing the pony to salivate more, large hunks of bark have emerged on their body especially on the hooves to appear like claws and on the head to look like horns or antlers. Unicorns with lycanthropy will experience bark around their horns and inability to use or control magic, while pegasi will have their wings grow stiff and unable to carry their larger, unnatural bodies- like they've forgotten how to use them. Ponies in this stage have lost all control of themselves, becoming timberwolf like in nature, and are advised to avoid at any point at night. Ponies can avoid these transformations if they stay away from any moonlight once night approaches, closing all windows and isolating themselves from the outside as even looking at the moon can trigger the transformation, it was often said that lycanthropy was a curse on ponykind from Nightmare Moon for betraying her because of this.

New Speedpaint!
I uploaded Lunar Eclipse's speedpaint!! I had a few internet problems while streaming/recording so it cuts off a few times, but I hope you like it! I want to try doing streams and/or speedpaints more (though idk if that’ll happen once i go back to work.. )
